Korean Contents Major Course Descriptions
▶ K-contents Korean Intermediate A
This course emphasizes vocabulary, grammar, discourse, writing, pronunciation, and culture. Students will be able to confidently speak in most everyday and slightly complex language situations. They will be able to read and understand intermediate-level texts on formal topics.
▶ K-contents Korean Intermediate B
This course emphasizes advanced language use in reading, conversation, and writing. Students will improve their language skills by expanding their vocabulary in reading and writing and consolidating their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar to reach Level 4 on the Korean Language Proficiency Test. Students will also enhance their speaking and listening skills by listening to and understanding the news and Korean dramas.
▶ K-contents Korean High-Intermediate A
This course focuses on intermediate-high level language skills, allowing students to understand discourse in some professional and formal situations, and to speak appropriately. Students will be able to understand the logical flow of texts, distinguish between main points and details, and write short reports with a logical structure and basic format.
▶ K-contents Korean High-Intermediate B
This course emphasizes language skills needed to engage in discourse related to society and one's work or studies, and is generally equivalent to the 5th level of the Korean Language Proficiency Test. Students will be able to read and write social and professional texts and perform communicative functions such as reporting work progress, discussing, relaying organized information, and understanding and expressing opinions.
▶ K-contents Korean Advanced A
This course focuses on advanced-level language skills that enable students to understand formal discourse in most professional situations. Students will be able to logically express their opinions with valid reasons, write formal texts that are appropriate for the situation, and read texts with a logical structure as well as literary works with uncomplicated structures.
▶ K-contents Korean Advanced B
This course emphasizes language skills that enable students to participate in discourse in professional or academic settings and to speak formally. Students will be able to read or write texts with specific social and cultural issues or of academic nature, achieving an overall proficiency equivalent to Level 6 on the Korean Language Proficiency Test.
▶ Korean Pronunciation Practice
This course aims to provide both theoretical and practical contents necessary for accurately and fluently pronouncing Korean. Students will learn the correct pronunciation of Korean vowels and consonants and practice pronunciation of syllables, phonological variations, and intonation in order to naturally pronounce Korean in actual speech.
▶ Korean Vocabulary Practice
This course aims to provide the theoretical and practical contents necessary to systematically acquire Korean vocabulary. By learning words that are related phonologically, semantically, and syntactically, students will improve their knowledge and ability in using vocabulary.
▶ Korean Grammar Practice
This course aims to provide the theoretical and practical contents necessary to accurately understand the meaning and usage of essential Korean grammar items and use them naturally. Students will briefly review beginner-level Korean grammar and gain complete mastery of intermediate-level grammar items.
▶ Advanced Korean Grammar
This course aims to provide the theoretical and practical content necessary to accurately understand the meaning and usage of advanced Korean grammar items and use them naturally. Students will master intermediate and advanced grammar structures, including similar grammar forms.
▶ Understanding Korean Videos
In this course, students will watch and understand movies, documentaries, news, and internet videos in Korean. This will build a foundation for improving listening skills and understanding spoken Korean.
▶ Reading Korean News
This course focuses on reading and understanding news related to politics, economics, society, and culture in Korean. The course helps develop students' ability to understand written Korean and improve their reading skills.
▶ Korean Culture Experience 1
This course aims to provide the necessary Korean language skills to understand various aspects of contemporary Korean culture, such as Korean music, dramas, food, and movies, while directly or indirectly experiencing them. Students will also learn vocabulary and expressions that reflect Korean lifestyles and ways of thinking.

Students will understand the latest trends in Korean contents and analyze cultural phenomena from multiple perspectives.

This course helps students understand the characteristics of modern Korean society through the study of cultural contents. Students will explore the universal and specific features of Korean cultural contents.
▶ Korean Cinema and Visual Storytelling
Students will watch Korean films and TV dramas to grasp the characteristics of modern Korean culture portrayed within them. They will explore visual storytelling to understand the visual grammar embedded in Korean contents.

Students will understand cultural elements based on Korean spiritual culture, such as "Jeong," "Han," and "Shinmyung." The course also provides a foundation for contents planning that can create new values based on Korean cultural elements.

This course deepens students' understanding of Korean culture by studying historical backgrounds, geography, art, and relics related to cultural heritage. This course explores various aspects and analyzes characteristics of contents based on Korean classical literature, such as myths, pansori, mask dance, and classical novels. Students who have completed the Korean Contents Studies curriculum will select a genre of contents they wish to produce and materialize their ideas for the production process. Students will practice content planning by organizing the actual production process of Korean contents into a storyboard.

In this course, representative works of Korean musicals will be reviewed and trends in performing arts such as concerts and b-boying will be examined in general. This course offers students that have completed the Korean Contents curriculum an opportunity to improve their problem-solving skills. Students will work step-by-step to achieve the specific goals of their designated task and submit the final outcome of their Korean contents project.
